Amsterdam tech events 5–11 June 2026: Hello Tomorrow's first Amsterdam edition, a free Deep Tech Showcase, Startup World Cup Benelux, JSNation, CSS Day and more.
Tech events in Amsterdam this week: deep tech moves in (5–11 June)
The fintech circus is striking its tent at the RAI, and the city barely gets a weekend to breathe before the next act loads in. The tech events in Amsterdam this week build toward one thing: Europe's deep tech community arriving en masse for Hello Tomorrow's first-ever Amsterdam edition — with the city throwing its own free showcase the day before, a continental pitch final at AI House, and a stacked Thursday of developer conferences on the IJ. Sixteen events, seven of them free. Here's how to play it.
The Big One: Hello Tomorrow lands at NDSM
Hello Tomorrow Global Summit 2026 — Thu 11 June, NDSM Producties, paid.
After more than a decade in Paris, Europe's leading deep tech summit moves to Amsterdam for the first time — 3,000+ founders, investors, researchers and corporates, on the NDSM wharf. This is the event where lab-to-market companies meet the capital and corporate partners that get them to scale, and its arrival is a statement about where Amsterdam thinks its scene is heading. The city clearly agrees: the day before, the ⭐ featured Amsterdam Deep Tech Showcase (Wed 10, CRCL Park on the Marineterrein, free) puts local deep tech on stage as a warm-up act. If your work touches AI, health, climate or anything that needed a PhD to build, this is your week.
The week ahead, by theme
Friday: civic tech day. The PublicSpaces orbit owns the start of the window — a free workshop on democratizing technology in your organisation at Pakhuis de Zwijger, and a hands-on Build Your Own Public Stack hackathon at Huis De Pinto, also free. Same afternoon, AMS Startup Booster Demo Day — Batch #8 at AMS Institute (CRCL Park, free): ten urban-tech ventures out of a 20-week accelerator.
Tuesday: green and growing. Tolhuistuin hosts a double bill — apidays Amsterdam (€590, two days, APIs as the connective tissue between AI and regulation) and Green IO Amsterdam (paid), the conference for treating sustainable IT as an engineering discipline rather than a PR line. Across the water at the RAI: GreenTech Amsterdam (€95) — the world's biggest horticulture-tech event, greenhouse robotics included — and PROVADA (€195), the Netherlands' largest real estate fair and the place proptech founders meet their actual market. Monday's outlier for the suits: Forrester's CX Summit EMEA at the Beurs van Berlage (paid).
Wednesday: pitch day. The ⭐ featured Startup World Cup '26 Benelux Regionals at AI House — free, 16:30–20:00, regional final of the global competition that feeds a Silicon Valley finale with a $1M investment prize. Plus the Deep Tech Showcase, above.
Thursday: builders' day. Kromhouthal hosts JSNation (€599, 1,500 developers in a former ship-engine factory) and TechLead Conf (€595, two days for engineering leaders on adopting AI in orgs). CSS Day fills the 17th-century Zuiderkerk (€650). And two free Hello Tomorrow satellites: Deep Tech Launch Pad Liftoff at the STRAAT Museum and Beyond the Hype: AI's Real Impact on Cleantech & Sustainability at Amsterdam Science Park.
By the numbers
- 16 events in the window, 7 of them free
- Busiest day: Thursday, with six events running at once
- Three venues doing double duty: Tolhuistuin (apidays + Green IO), the RAI (GreenTech + PROVADA) and Kromhouthal (JSNation + TechLead Conf)
- Ticket spread: €0 to €650 — the free end of this week is unusually strong
Who should go where
Founders — deep tech founders, Wednesday is the day that costs nothing and could change your year: Showcase by day, Startup World Cup in the evening. Everyone else: Friday's Demo Day is a good read on what Dutch accelerators are shipping.
Investors — Hello Tomorrow is the dealflow event of the quarter for deep tech; the free Wednesday showcase is an efficient pre-screen the day before. Skip the generic networking this week — the calendar is too good.
Builders — Thursday, Amsterdam Noord, pick your church: JavaScript at Kromhouthal or actual church (CSS Day, Zuiderkerk). If your employer pays, TechLead Conf's AI-adoption angle is the most immediately useful. If they don't, the two free Thursday side events are no consolation prize.
Sales & marketing — CX Summit EMEA on Monday if enterprise CX is your patch; PROVADA on Tuesday if you sell anything to the built environment. The buyers are there, not at the mixers.
Last week, briefly
Money20/20 Europe ⭐ ran its 15th edition at the RAI from Tuesday — 7,400+ senior fintech leaders from 100+ countries — with satellite events like the canal-side (un)Banked Conference at Fosbury & Sons soaking up the overflow. What it means for this week: a chunk of that international crowd stays on for the deep tech programme, so Thursday's rooms will be more global than usual. Follow up fast — visitors leave Friday.
Worth knowing
- Startup World Cup is free but host-approved — and the approval queue is real. Our own registration, submitted 25 May, was still pending as we wrote this. Apply now, not on Tuesday, and don't assume same-day sign-off.
- The Deep Tech Showcase is gated too. Registration goes through an approval step on the organiser's side (we're in that queue as well). It's a curated room, which is exactly why it's worth the form.
- Developer conferences are the blind spot of most event aggregators — historically ours included. We now cross-check dev.events every run, which is how the full JSNation / TechLead / CSS Day cluster made this list. If you only follow meetup platforms, you'd have missed half of Thursday.
- Next Friday (12 June), React Summit brings 1,500+ people back to Kromhouthal — it falls in next week's edition, but tickets won't wait for it.
