How do I find tech events in my city?
Select your city from the navigation bar at the top of the page. Events are grouped by week and sorted by relevance, with featured and highly-rated events surfaced first. Use the filters to narrow down by category (AI, Fintech, Founders, etc.), price (free or paid), or time range (this week, next week, this month). All events link directly to the organiser's registration page.
Are the events on An Open Room free to attend?
Each event has its own ticket price set by the organiser — some are free, others are paid. You can filter for free events only using the price filter on any city feed. The listing clearly shows the price (or "Free") on every event card, so you can see at a glance what's within budget.
Which cities do you cover?
We currently have active listings for London, Berlin, and Amsterdam. Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin, Birmingham, and Bristol are also live with events. Paris, Milan, Rome, and Barcelona are coming soon. Subscribe to the newsletter and we will let you know when your city launches.
How often is the event listing updated?
New events are added throughout the week as our editorial team reviews and approves submissions. The city feeds refresh every five minutes. The weekly Friday newsletter rounds up the best upcoming events and is sent to subscribers before the weekend — making it an easy way to plan the week ahead.
How do I sign up for the weekly newsletter?
Each city page has an email subscribe widget — enter your email, choose your city, and you'll receive a curated digest every Friday morning. The newsletter is free, contains no spam, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We also offer a Slack integration so you can receive the digest directly in your team's Slack workspace.
Can I get event updates directly in Slack?
Yes — click the "Add to Slack" button on any city page to connect An Open Room to your Slack workspace. Each Friday morning a digest of upcoming events in your city is posted to the channel you choose. It's ideal for teams who want to stay across the London, Berlin, or Amsterdam tech scenes without leaving Slack.
How are events curated and reviewed?
Every event is manually reviewed by our editorial team before it goes live. We check that events are genuinely tech-relevant, that descriptions are accurate and informative, and that registration links work. We use an AI-assisted quality score to surface the most relevant and engaging events higher in the feed, but every listing has been seen by a human first.
What kinds of tech events are listed?
We list the full spectrum of European tech events: founder meetups, investor panels and pitch nights, AI and machine learning talks, Fintech and Web3 events, design and product meetups, hackathons, side events at major conferences (like LDN, SaaStr, and Web Summit), and themed networking evenings. We focus on events that are actually worth attending — not just anything with a tech badge.
How far ahead are events listed?
Most events appear in the feed one to four weeks before they happen. Major conferences and flagship events are sometimes listed months ahead. The archive lets you browse past events if you want to discover recurring meetups or recurring organiser series worth keeping an eye on.
Is An Open Room free to use?
Yes, completely free. Browsing the event feeds, subscribing to the newsletter, adding the Slack digest, and registering for events (via the organiser's link) all cost nothing. An Open Room is an independent editorial platform funded by featured placements and sponsorship — your data is never sold.
