Wednesday 5 August, one venue — La Fuga in L'Eixample — hosts back-to-back the only two networking events worth clearing your calendar for.

The Big One: Speed Networking for Women in Tech (Wed 5 Aug)

The evening opens with Speed Networking: Find Your Next Collaborator, Mentor or Friend for Women in Tech at 19:00 at La Fuga, run by Women & Tech Barcelona, and it's free.

The format does the heavy lifting: five minutes, two women, one conversation — then a soft bell and you move on. This is the one that doesn't shout, which is why it's our hidden gem. It gathers product strategists, growth people and AI practitioners for something informal but focused — current challenges, emerging trends, and where AI is actually changing product work rather than where it just decorates a pitch deck. Smaller monthly meetups like this reward the people who turn up: fewer badges, more real questions, and a decent chance you leave with a specific answer to a specific problem. If you sit anywhere on the product-growth-AI triangle, the smartest move this week is to arrive at 19:00 for the speed networking and simply not leave.

Across the network: Berlin doesn't take August off

Both events run at La Fuga in L'Eixample, both are free, and both start late by non-Spanish standards — 19:00 and 21:00. That's normal here; nobody arrives early, and "on time" means fifteen minutes after the listed start. You don't need Spanish or Catalan to take part: Barcelona's tech scene runs mostly in English, with both languages floating around socially, and these two evenings are English-friendly by default.
