While half of Europe files out to the coast in late July, Berlin keeps the lights on. The networking events in Berlin this week aren't a skeleton-crew calendar waiting for September — they include the city's single most reliable weekly gathering, a hands-on AI build for people tired of slideware, and a Thursday-morning breakfast that's about to disappear for a few weeks. Here's the week laid out day by day, who each room is really for, and one date worth protecting before the summer gap opens.

The Big One: Thursday Gathering #64 at Venture Café

If you only walk into one room in Berlin this week, make it this one. The Thursday Gathering is the closest thing the city has to a standing appointment: 150-250 founders, investors, operators, creatives and students turning up week after week, whatever the season. That consistency is the whole value. You don't come for a single headline talk; you come because the density of useful people is predictable, the format is open, and you can walk out with three conversations that go somewhere. Number 64 lands on the last day of the month, so expect the usual mix plus whoever is passing through Berlin before August. Free, no pitch required, just show up.

The week ahead, day by day

Friday 24 July — Tech Social Berlin, Belushi's Berlin (Alexanderplatz), €3. The city's long-running weekly after-work social: no agenda, no name tags, just people who work in and around tech unwinding on a Friday evening. It's the one ticket you'll pay for all week, and three euros is barely a ticket at all. Good for easing into the weekend without committing to a whole evening of structured networking.

Tuesday 28 July — ClawCamp Berlin Edition, CODE University of Applied Sciences (Delta Campus), free. Run by Global AI Berlin, ClawCamp is a hands-on AI builder session for people who would rather build than listen to another panel about building. It's part of a global chapter network, and the format is exactly what the name implies: bring a laptop, ship something. This is the week's most substantive daytime slot for engineers.

Thursday 30 July — betabreakfast, betahaus Kreuzberg, free, 12:00. betahaus's long-running weekly community breakfast — informal, midday, and open to founders, freelancers, creatives and anyone orbiting the Kreuzberg scene. See the "Worth knowing" note below: this edition is one of the last before betabreakfast pauses for the summer, which makes it more than just another Thursday.

Thursday 30 July — Thursday Gathering #64 (see The Big One). The evening anchor.

Thursday 30 July — NXT LEVEL Accelerator Sommerfest 2026, WISTA CHIC (Charlottenburger Innovations-Centrum), free. A summer BBQ and community gathering marking the end of NXT LEVEL Accelerator's season — founders past and present, mentors and partners, out in Charlottenburg. It clashes with the Thursday Gathering time-wise, so this is a genuine choice: east-side ecosystem density versus a relaxed west-side garden party.

Who should go where

Founders — Thursday is your day, and you have a real decision to make. The Thursday Gathering gives you the widest cross-section of the ecosystem in one CIC atrium; the NXTLX Sommerfest gives you a warmer, smaller room with accelerator alumni and mentors who already know the drill. If you're raising or hiring, take the Gathering for reach. If you want depth with people who might actually mentor you, the Sommerfest rewards it.

Builders (engineers, designers, PMs) — ClawCamp on Tuesday is the obvious call. It's the only genuinely hands-on session this week, and CODE University is a good room for it. Skip the Friday social if you're there to build; save your energy for shipping.

Investors — a quieter week for pure dealflow, and that's fine to say out loud. The Thursday Gathering is where you'll find the most founders in one place, so if you're only stepping out once, make it that. Otherwise, this is a week to take meetings rather than work rooms.

Hidden gem: ClawCamp at CODE University

Most weeks the AI events on our list are talks about AI. ClawCamp isn't — it's a build. Global AI Berlin has been quietly running these hands-on sessions, and the Tuesday-afternoon slot at CODE's Delta Campus is the kind of thing that doesn't trend on LinkedIn but sends you home with working code and a couple of people who debug the way you do. If you're an engineer who's grown allergic to the word "fireside", this is your evening. That's why we flagged it.

Worth knowing

Venture Café Berlin does not take a summer break. Worth stating plainly, because some cities' weekly fixtures do: Edinburgh's Venture Café, for instance, goes dark for part of the summer. Berlin's Thursday Gathering runs straight through. So #64 on 30 July isn't a special summer edition — it's just the machine doing what it always does, which is exactly why it's dependable.

betabreakfast is about to pause. betahaus's weekly breakfast run stops after next week — the summer gap begins around 6 August — so the 30 July edition is one of the last before the break. If the midday Kreuzberg breakfast is part of your routine, don't skip this one assuming there's another next Thursday; there won't be for a while.
