Last Friday the whole Irish data community packed into Trinity for Data Céilí's free conference day — 24 sessions across the Microsoft data platform, no ticket price, the corridors as busy as the rooms. It was the loudest free event on the Dublin calendar this season, and the city's earned a breather after it. So the tech events in Dublin this week start slow and end strong: a couple of dependable regulars, a sharp midweek meetup, and a Thursday-night startup showcase that's the actual reason to clear your calendar.

The week, by theme

The regulars. The Dublin Tech Mixer and Social (Fri 19, 19:30, Madigans on Leeson Street, free) is the low-friction weekly: no badges, no pitches, just the room. It's the easiest way to keep your network warm without committing an evening to an agenda.

The practitioners' midweek. Dub|Sec — Dublin Cybersecurity Meetup (Wed 24, 19:30, Camden Court Hotel, free) is Dublin's monthly security gathering: practitioner-led talks spanning offensive and defensive security, threat intelligence and compliance. Consistently well-run, consistently good — the kind of community event that's been quietly reliable for years.

The NDRC Pre-Accelerator Summer Showcase is the week's clear headline: nineteen Irish startups pitching live at Dogpatch Labs, one of the best rooms in the country for catching the current wave of early-stage Irish innovation before anyone else does. The pitches are the show, but the draw is the audience — NDRC showcases pull a strong investor and operator turnout, which is what turns a demo night into a dealflow night. It's free. If you invest, hire, partner or just want to know what the next cohort of Irish founders is building, this is the Thursday to be at the IFSC. Who should go where

Investors — Thursday at Dogpatch, full stop. Nineteen pitches in one sitting is the most efficient dealflow scan Dublin offers this week, and the operator crowd around the edges is half the value.

Founders — the NDRC showcase is reconnaissance and inspiration in equal measure — see how the current cohort frames itself, then work the room. If pitching's not your week, Friday's mixer at Madigans keeps you connected for the price of a pint.

Builders — security people, Dub|Sec on Wednesday is your room. Otherwise it's a lighter week on the technical side; the Friday mixer is a fine low-commitment option.

Sales & marketing — the NDRC showcase is the densest mixed room of the week, with founders and investors both in it. The Friday mixer is the backup. Beyond that, a quiet stretch — no shame in banking the evenings.

Venue corner: Dogpatch Labs

If you're new to the scene, Thursday's a good excuse to learn the building. Dogpatch Labs sits in the CHQ building down in the IFSC on the north bank of the Liffey — a five-minute walk from Connolly Station and right on the Luas red line at George's Dock. It's the closest thing Dublin has to a startup town square: accelerators, scaling companies and a permanent rotation of demo nights and showcases under one roof. Get there a little early on Thursday; the good conversations at NDRC events tend to start at the coffee station before the pitches do.

Worth knowing

• IT Social moved from 12 → 19 June. The networking series originally scheduled for Friday the 12th was postponed to Friday 19 June (organiser email, received 11 June). RSVPs transferred automatically, so if you'd registered for the original date you're already on the new one — no action needed. It runs the same evening as the Madigans mixer, so Friday gives you two low-key options.
• Morning Grind has a new home — permanently, it seems. Two Saturdays ago the AI coffee meetup moved from Starbucks The Oval to Butlers Chocolate Café in Ballsbridge, and the organiser has since stood up a dedicated LinkedIn page for the series — so treat Butlers as the venue going forward, not a one-off. It's not in this week's window, but worth filing if you've been meaning to try a Saturday session.
• NDRC is free but ticketed. Showcase rooms at Dogpatch fill — register rather than assuming you can walk in on the night.
