Milan tech events this week: fashion-tech, AI and a first look (19–25 Jun 2026)
Our first hand-picked guide to tech and networking events in Milan, 19–25 June 2026: Fashion Week's tech crossover, two AI conferences, and a startup party.
We've just switched the lights on in Milan, so consider this a hand-picked opening night rather than the full programme. Six events made the cut this week — and it's hard to imagine a more Milanese way to start, because almost all of them sit exactly where this city's tech actually lives: at the seam between fashion, finance and the machines now running both. The calendar will deepen fast as we get a feel for the scene. For now, fewer events, more on each.
The week runs on fashion-tech
Three of this week's six events orbit the same gravitational centre, and it's not a coincidence: Milano Fashion Week Men's SS27 runs 19–23 June, and the tech crowd has stopped treating it as someone else's party.
Milano Fashion Week Men's SS27 — Fashion-Tech Programme opens the window on Friday 19 June at 12:00, hubbed around BASE Milano with events across the city. It's free, organised by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, and the number worth knowing is 75 — that's how many events fill the calendar, including 22 runway shows (six of them digital) and 44 presentations. The fashion-tech crossover is the part that matters to this audience: digital showrooms, 3D and virtual design, retailtech. Go for the texture of how Milan fuses craft and software; you won't find this combination at a generic dev meetup.

It closes the way Milan does best — with a party. Startup Grind Milan Presents: Fashion Startup Party lands Thursday 25 June at 21:00 at Talent Garden Calabiana, free, and sits deliberately in the middle of Fashion Week. Expect a curated mix of fashion-tech founders, designers and retailtech operators. If you only have one evening for people rather than panels, this is it.
The Big One: two conferences, one Wednesday
Wednesday 24 June is the week's pinch point — two serious conferences run head to head, so choose by appetite.
World Tech Conference 2026 — The new frontier of exponential technology is our featured event: a four-day run at Allianz MiCo from Wednesday 24 June, 11:00. It pulls institutions, research, universities, Big Tech, hyperscalers and industrial groups around quantum computing, AI and deeptech. It's the big-tent, big-stage option — and at €450 it's priced for companies and serious operators, not casual browsers.

The sharper, more hands-on alternative is AI Conf 2026 — Italy's flagship AI conference, running the same day from 11:30 at Talent Garden Calabiana (€290). Italy's first conference dedicated to applied AI, going annually since 2019: generative AI in production, RAG patterns, AI agents. If you build, AI Conf is the one to be in the room for; World Tech is where you go for the institutional sweep.
Who should go where
- Founders — your free pick is the Founder Institute Milan session below; your room-to-work pick is the Startup Grind Fashion Startup Party (Thu 25). Skip nothing this week — the calendar's small enough that there's no fat to trim.
- Investors — quiet first week for pure dealflow, but Startup Africa Day Milano (Tue 23) is the one with pitches on stage: Startup Africa Day Milano 2026 at Parco Center, 20:00, free, run by StartupItalia — six African startups pitching, plus an ecosystem keynote and an Italian-Senegalese networking cocktail.
- Builders — AI Conf 2026 (Wed 24) is your day: applied, technical, production-grade.
- Sales & marketing — Fashion Week's fashion-tech strand and the Startup Grind party are where retailtech buyers actually circulate.
Hidden gem
Turn Startup Hesitation Into Action: A Founder Mindset Framework is small, online and free — a Founder Institute Milan session on Tuesday 16 June at 20:00 tackling the analysis-paralysis that stalls most early-stage founders. It technically falls in our recap window rather than the week ahead, but it's the kind of low-profile, high-utility evening that's easy to miss on a busy fashion week, so we're flagging it. The framework gets reused across Founder Institute's global cohorts — worth an hour if pre-launch hesitation is your bottleneck.
Free networking events in Milan this week
Four of the six are free: the Fashion Week fashion-tech programme (Fri 19), Startup Africa Day (Tue 23), the Founder Institute session (Tue 16), and the Startup Grind Fashion Startup Party (Thu 25). The two paid events are the Wednesday conferences.
Are these events really free?
The four marked free are free to attend — though Fashion Week's individual shows and presentations vary, and registration is usually expected. Always book ahead via the event page; "free" rarely means "just walk in" for the bigger formats.
How do I get my event listed in Milan?
This is our first Milan edition, so the calendar is intentionally curated rather than comprehensive — and we'd love your help filling it. If you run or know a Milan tech event, submit it and we'll consider it for next week. Early listings genuinely shape what this guide becomes.
That's the opening week. Browse everything we have on the Milan events page, and tell us what we're missing — in a city this layered, we know there's more out there than six events.
