Birmingham Tech Network's informal evening at the Slug & Lettuce in Brindley Place. There are no slides and no speeches — the entire format is conversation between people who work in tech, spanning developers, product managers, designers and UX. BTN has been running these consistently enough to have a genuine regular crowd, which is what makes a no-programme event work. Free, and places are capped.
The second Wednesday of every month at fizzPOP is a software and microelectronics social layered on top of the usual public open night — a chance to tinker alongside like-minded hackers, talk through electronics projects and bounce ideas off people who will actually engage with the details. Free and open to non-members. Useful for embedded and hardware-adjacent developers who rarely get a dedicated room in Birmingham.
