Amsterdam tech events 9-15 Oct: 22 on the city page after World AI Week's 59.
Amsterdam tech events this week: what the city looks like once the summit leaves (9-15 October 2026)
World AI Week put fifty-nine rows on our Amsterdam page in seven days. This week there are twenty-two, and twenty-two is the more useful number: it is what the city's own calendar looks like with the visitors gone. Friday still carries the tail of the summit, then Amsterdam tech events settle back into what they usually are here - a meetup in a company canteen, a conference day you can cycle to, and somebody's last one.
The week, by who owns the room
Corporate floors. Five evenings happen in offices. Autumn Maptime Amsterdam 2026 opens the week at TomTom on Monday, 18:15, free - maps and geospatial data, at the most on-the-nose host in the city. Tuesday 17:30, the NL dbt Meetup: 17th Edition at Eraneos, free: analytics engineers on modelling, testing and orchestration. Wednesday splits - AdvancedAI Amsterdam - October at Xebia, 17:30, free, is deliberately advanced: architecture, training, serving, not prompt technique, while Enterprise AI in Practice: Observability and Governance at Cisco, 18:00, free, is the AI Guardians Dutch chapter on what production demands. Thursday 17:15, The Goodbye Meetup at ABN AMRO's Gustav Mahlerlaan headquarters, free - the bank's developer group winding up its series for good.
Science Park. Build Your Own AI Agent: Workshop and Roundtable is Friday, 15:00, at Matrix ONE, free - hands-on agent building then a roundtable, and the closing technical session of World AI Week. Bring a laptop.

The same campus closes the week: Monthly Community Drinks - Startup Village Amsterdam, Thursday 17:00, free. Most of the city's deeptech and spin-out crowd is based there, and this is the cheapest way in.
Civic rooms. Amsterdam puts its AI arguments in public buildings, which is one of the better things about it. Creative Lab: Vibe Coding & Humanities, Friday 15:00, Embassy of the Free Mind, EUR 25 - AI-assisted coding aimed at humanities research rather than a product. From Distrust to Weapon: Reclaiming AI for Democracy, Wednesday 19:30, De Balie, EUR 15: a real argument on stage about disinformation and democratic institutions. Dialoog op Dinsdag (Tuesday 17:00, Roeterseiland Campus, free) is Amsterdam AI's discussion evening, in Dutch. Mindstone Amsterdam October AI Meetup (Wednesday 18:00, Maarten Luther Kerk, free) is short practitioner talks in a church. And a Conversation on Ethics, Technology, and the Limits of Critique at Internet Archive Europe - see the time warning below.
Daytime. Data at Scale - ClickHouse Netherlands Community Conference (Wednesday 09:00, LIEF Amsterdam, free) is the value of the week: a full practitioner day on analytical databases and streaming ingest, for nothing. TechDays 2026 (Thursday 09:00, Circa Amsterdam, EUR 395) is KickstartAI's flagship, built around how things work rather than what AI might do. Parallel Programming in Python (Tuesday 09:30, Netherlands eScience Center, EUR 50 for two days) is the best-value training on the board. BazelCon 2026 (Tuesday, EUR 350, Linux Foundation) opens with a training day. FundFest XI (Tuesday 15:00, free) is pitched at fund managers and LPs rather than founders; The Accountability Dilemma: Who Actually Owns the Product? (Tuesday 18:00, free) is the product community arguing about ownership. Saturday brings ZZP'er: Ondernemingsplan maken met AI of zonder AI (10:00, EUR 45), a Dutch-language business-plan workshop for freelancers.
By the numbers
Twenty-two events, sixteen free. All six paid ones publish a figure, which was not true last week, and together they come to EUR 880. Tuesday is the pile-up with seven. Four rows carry no address at all.
The Big One: Robot-Con, and actual hardware
Robot-Con at Sporthallen Zuid - Tuesday 13 October, 16:00, free.
<img src="https://joezfbehxxpcrpliygvo.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/hero-images/event-amsterdam-robot-con-at-sporthallen-zuid-1013.webp" alt="Robot-Con robotics convention at Sporthallen Zuid, Amsterdam" class="w-full rounded-lg my-6" loading="lazy" />
A robotics convention in a sports hall, run through the AI on the Amstel community: hardware on the floor, embodied AI on the programme. We are calling it over two paid conference days for one reason - physical robotics is thinly covered in this city, and a free afternoon where you can walk up to the machines beats a slide about them.
It is also the highest-scoring event on our board this week: after the fortnight this page has had, a free community robotics day outranked everything the summit left behind.
Organiser spotlight: Appsterdam
Two of this week's rows are Appsterdam's, and they are the same two most weeks. Coffee Coding on Saturday at 09:30, The Coffee Room: laptops, coffee, whatever you are working on. Weekly Meeten en Drinken on Wednesday at 19:00, Cafe Bax: no agenda, no tickets, find the table. Neither will change your year. Together they are why there is always something on here, and the easiest first door for anyone who has just moved.
Who should go where
Builders, read Wednesday first. Xebia for model internals, Cisco for production governance, De Balie if you would rather argue about what you are building. One of the three, not two. Otherwise: Wednesday morning is free at LIEF for the ClickHouse day, Tuesday is EUR 50 for two days of real Python parallelism, Friday is agents at Matrix ONE.
Founders. No pitch nights this week, so use the drinks: Startup Village on Thursday if you are deeptech, Appsterdam on Wednesday if you need engineers. Skip the big ticketed days unless you are selling into them.
Investors. FundFest XI on Tuesday, and it is unusual - a Dutch room of fund managers and LPs rather than a founder showcase. The venue comes on registration, so register.
Product people. Tuesday 18:00, the accountability session. Only product room this week, and the right question.
Worth knowing
- One start time not to trust. The Internet Archive Europe conversation sits on our Friday row at 02:00. That is an ingest artefact, not a two-in-the-morning event - take the real time from the organiser's registration page.
- Four rows publish no address: BazelCon, FundFest XI, the accountability session and the ZZP'er workshop. The blanks are deliberate; we do not print an address we have not verified.
- Four more name the host company where a building should be: TomTom, Eraneos, Xebia and Cisco. Office receptions want a name on a list, so book under the one you will show at the desk.
- Two events run in Dutch: Dialoog op Dinsdag and the ZZP'er workshop. Everything else is in English, the usual ratio here.
- Thursday's ABN AMRO meetup is the last one. The developer group is closing the series for good.
Tell us what we are missing
Twenty-two events is a real week, not a thin one - but Amsterdam is one of the newer pages in our network, and the gap between what is on and what we list is not zero. The full Amsterdam listings have the rest of October.
So: what did we miss? A meetup, a hardware night, a Dutch-language session, anything that is not another AI panel - send it over and it is in next Friday's post. Early readers shape this page more than they realise.
