Barcelona tech events this week: the Fira hands the week back (6-12 November 2026)
Barcelona tech events 6-12 Nov: nine rooms, five free, PyConES opens Friday at the UB, Gartner fills the CCIB, and three stored start times are wrong.
Barcelona tech events this week: the Fira hands the week back
Last week one address held six of our rooms. This week the big tent moves across town to the CCIB for Gartner, and the other eight tech events in Barcelona go back to human scale: a Catalan conference on Friday morning, the Spanish Python community for three days, five evenings you can walk into for nothing. Four of the nine rooms are run by or for women in tech - the most anyone has made of a quiet week since we opened this page.
Last week, briefly
Fira Gran Via ran five congresses Tuesday to Thursday, the Deep Tech Summit put 180 pre-arranged B2B meetings in one hall, and the 22@Afterwork at the Hotel Arts collected the delegates on the way out. The badges have gone home; everything below is run by people who live here, with one four-day exception. We also flagged a bogus 01:00 start on our Tomorrow.Blue Economy row last week. Same bug this week: Gartner.
The week ahead, by what it costs you
Free tech events in Barcelona this week
WomanLiderTIC 2026 - Friday 6 November, 10:30, Centre Movistar Placa Catalunya, free. Twelfth edition of the Catalan conference on women's leadership in ICT, from Dones en Xarxa. A full day of keynotes, middle of town, nothing else competing for your Friday.

Barcelona | Claude & Coffee (Women in Tech) - Saturday 7 November, 11:00, free. The only weekend room on the page: a relaxed morning meet-up for women in tech and anyone who wants to build alongside them, hosted by Fernanda Grace Lins, a Claude Ambassador here.
Ask your data. Verify your AI - Tuesday 10 November, 19:30, isolutions' Barcelona office, free. Two sessions on building AI over business data in a way you can actually check, opened by Manel Vericat of zenital. One free evening? Take this one.
Learn to Program with AI - Wednesday 11 November, 19:30, Le Wagon Barcelona, free. Run with codebar, for people between beginner and working developer who use AI tools badly and know it.
Gremio.day x Devin.ai - Thursday 12 November, 19:00, Itnig Cafe, free. Hands-on with Devin, the AI software engineering agent: handing it a task, reviewing what it returns, fitting it into a workflow you have.
Under EUR 80
PyConES 2026 - from Friday 6 November, Universitat de Barcelona, EUR 75, three days. The headline, below.
STEM Women Congress Global - Barcelona 2026 - Tuesday 10 November, CosmoCaixa, EUR 44. Half-day congress on women in STEM, in the science museum rather than a hotel ballroom. Check the time before booking the morning off.
Women Investors' Lunch by SIA - Wednesday 11 November, 14:00, El Tros de la Rambla on Rambla Catalunya, EUR 30. SIA Angel Hub, second Wednesday of the month, for women who invest in startups or want to start. Lunch with people who write cheques, thirty euros.
The one with no figure at all
Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo 2026 - Monday 9 to Thursday 12 November, Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona. Gartner's main European conference for CIOs and IT executives: the largest thing in Barcelona tech this week by a distance, and the room we can tell you least about. Paid with no price, and the start time is wrong.
Who should go where
Founders. Wednesday's SIA lunch, then Thursday's Gremio.day. The lunch is thirty euros and the table is angels rather than founders, which is the inversion you want. Gremio.day is about shipping faster with an agent in the loop, and Itnig's room is full of people who have tried it. Skip Gartner unless a named CIO is already in your pipeline.
Builders. Your best week in a month: PyConES from Friday, then three free evenings running - isolutions Tuesday, Le Wagon Wednesday, Itnig Thursday. Clear Tuesday if you clear only one.
Investors. Quiet. Last week had the Deep Tech Summit and 180 pre-booked meetings; this week has one room where capital is the point, the SIA lunch. The rest is practitioners talking to practitioners.
Sales and marketing. Gartner or nothing. Four days of exactly the buyers you want, at a price the listing will not give you: call them and decide. If it is not budgeted, work your pipeline - the free evenings are engineers and they are not buying.
The big one: PyConES 2026
PyConES 2026 - Spanish Python Conference - three days from Friday 6 November, Universitat de Barcelona, EUR 75. Featured.
The Spanish Python community's annual conference, and this year Barcelona has it. Friday is a half day; the weekend is the full programme. Seventy-five euros for three days is the cheapest serious technical education in the city this month, and the only room this week where you stay put long enough to change how you work.
<img src="https://joezfbehxxpcrpliygvo.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/hero-images/event-barcelona-pycones-2026-spanish-python-conference-1106.webp" alt="PyConES 2026, the Spanish Python Conference, at the Universitat de Barcelona, 6 November 2026" class="w-full rounded-lg my-6" loading="lazy" />
It takes the headline over Gartner deliberately: Gartner is bigger, and tells you neither the price nor the hour. Go if you write Python for money, hire Python people, or have a Python-shaped data stack underneath. Stay home if you came for business development - this is a room of practitioners, and they will happily talk to you about type hints instead.
First-timer's note: which language is the room in?
Four of the nine rooms carry our "mixed" language tag - WomanLiderTIC, PyConES, the STEM Women Congress, Gremio.day. In Barcelona that means slides in English and questions in Catalan or Spanish, with the speaker switching to match whoever asked. Nobody minds which of the three you use.
WomanLiderTIC is a Catalan-language conference and shows as mixed only because our language field has no Catalan value in it yet. Until it does, assume a Catalan organiser at a Catalan institution runs in Catalan, and go anyway. Titles and venues stay as the organisers wrote them.
Worth knowing
- Gartner's start time on our page is wrong and we cannot fix it from here. The row reads 01:00 on Monday 9 November; Gartner runs 9 to 12 November at the CCIB. Treat the hour as unconfirmed and read Gartner's agenda. Third week this row has carried a placeholder - there is no write route for start times on our side.
- PyConES: our row says 15:30 Friday; the programme says the half day starts 14:30. Turn up for 14:30.
- STEM Women Congress: our row says 10:30 Tuesday; the Eventbrite listing says 09:30 to 15:00, in person. The organiser wins.
- Five rooms read "free" with no amount against them. A missing price records as free in our data, so that label means "no price published" rather than "walk in". Register for all five - including Saturday's Claude & Coffee, which has no venue on our row either.
Before you go
Nine events, five free, one Saturday morning, and the week's biggest conference has neither a price nor a start time. Browse the full Barcelona listings and book Friday before Thursday night.
Next week picks up at once: DevOpsDays Barcelona opens on 13 November, the day after this window closes. This page is young enough that what we cover is still set by what readers send us - if you run something here that is not on it, send it over.
