Barcelona tech events this week: ten became forty (9-15 October 2026)
Barcelona tech events 9-15 Oct: forty on the city page, 33 free.
Ten events last Friday. Forty this Friday. That is what our Barcelona page holds between Friday 9 and Thursday 15 October, and the jump says more about us than about the city: we spent the week finding where Barcelona announces itself. Read it as a deep cut through a crowded calendar, not a complete map of tech events in Barcelona.
Two numbers shape it. Thirty-three of the forty are free. Thirty-three also land on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday - a different thirty-three, same size. Friday has four, Saturday one, Sunday nothing. Every hard choice about networking events in Barcelona this week sits in three nights.
The daytime tier: auditoriums and badges
Fri 9 Oct, 09:00 - SAGA Barcelona Game Fest 2026, Fira de Barcelona - Montjuic. Free. Debut edition of the city's games-industry festival, and today is the business-to-business day: eighty-plus talks, a developer showcase, esports across the halls. Free, at Fira scale, for a first edition. Our row marks the room Spanish.

Tue 13 Oct, 09:00 - Shift AI Europe 2026, Palau de Congressos de Catalunya. Free. Two days of founders, engineering leaders and investors defining the software layer of AI - the only programme this week with all three in one building.
Wed 14 Oct, 09:00 - EuroRust 2026, Auditori L'illa. The European Rust conference takes Avinguda Diagonal for four days, workshops and hackathons bracketing two days of talks. Paid - and that is all we can tell you: no figure reaches our row. Buy from EuroRust, not from us.
Tuesday evening: six rooms, one of you
Between 18:00 and 18:30 on Tuesday the city opens six doors. Our order:
- SpainClouds Meetup October: Reliable Systems, Glovo Yellow Park, free, in Spanish. Keeping systems up at scale, told by people carrying real load. Best engineering room of the evening.
- Barcelona SaaS Founders Meetup, La Textil Collective, 18:30, free. Second outing of the SaaS Founders Circle: pricing, retention, scaling software in 2026. Narrow on purpose, which is why it works.
- Promoting Entrepreneurship: Lessons Learnt from Research on Founder Wellbeing, Cloudworks Sagrada Familia, free. Esade putting researchers in a room with entrepreneurs and investors. Unfashionable subject, honest format.
- Stop Prompting, Start Building Real Solutions with AI, La Fabrica & Co, free. Le Wagon on getting past the chat window. For people learning this, not people already shipping agents.
- Norrsken Portfolio Welcome Drinks, Casa Bonay, free - but it is primarily a portfolio gathering opening Impact/Week.
- Write the Docs Barcelona In-Person Meetup, 18:30, free. Technical writers and documentarians. The description points at Placa del Sol in Gracia; our venue field is empty.
Wednesday and Thursday: the same problem twice
Wed 14 Oct, 18:00 - bcnrust Session #22, Helsing. Free. Two talks, one a 3D terminal emulator written in Rust, hosted by the defence-technology company at its Barcelona office. Strongest-scoring community evening on our page, and the host is half the reason to go.
Around it: Design & AI: A View from Latin America at NTT DATA, 17:00, free, in Spanish; Marketing & AI Leaders Afterwork at Samurai Experience, EUR 15; Human Challenges of AI at AKASHA Hub, 18:30; and AI for the Planet: Climate Solution or Hidden Cost?, also 18:30, which takes both sides of that argument seriously instead of picking one.
Thursday is heavier again. Security Talks + Networking: Hunting TDS & Agentic Vulnerability Management, Allianz Technology Spain, 18:00, free - vendor-free by design, with a full hour of networking before the talks rather than after. Then CodeMeet Barcelona: Pixels to Action at Accenture, hands-on, on giving AI systems eyes; and AI Against AI from TechFems at 42 Barcelona, free and in Spanish, on employers screening with AI while candidates write with AI.
The Big One: Impact/Week takes the city
Wed 14 Oct, 09:00 - Impact/Week 2026, Norrsken House Barcelona. EUR 295. Two days, and the speaker list is why it leads: John Kerry, Rutger Bregman and Octopus Energy's Greg Jackson, in one building, here. It is also the only event this week with a serious price, which tells you who it is for: people whose job is capital, policy or scale in climate, not people after a first introduction.

What makes it the week rather than the day is the orbit, and most of the orbit is free. The Fixathon runs from Tue 13 Oct at 15:00 at Norrsken House - a 24-hour AI-for-climate hackathon for fifty selected builders - apply, do not turn up. Ship2B Impact Forum - Innovation Showtime puts impact startups, corporates and investors in the World Trade Center on Tuesday at 16:00, with the Systemic Summit in the same building from 09:30, run as a working lab, not a conference. Beyond Climate Tech closes it at Hub BStartup on Thursday at 17:30.
Who should go where
Founders. Tuesday 18:30, the SaaS Founders Circle - narrowest and most useful room of your week. Wednesday at 09:00, Crecer sin perder el origen at Pier 07, free and in Spanish: Josep Ametller and Miguel Fluxa on taking Catalan businesses international without losing what made them work at home. Skip the open mixers: the specific rooms are too good.
Builders. SpainClouds Tuesday, bcnrust Wednesday, Security Talks Thursday - three free evenings with people who run production systems. bcnrust is free, EuroRust is paid with no published figure: do the free one first.
Investors. Your week is the search-fund one, not the AI one. IESE runs a double on the North Campus: the 3rd Women in Search Forum on Wednesday at 11:30, EUR 45, then the 7th IESE International Search Fund Conference from Thursday at 14:00, paid, no figure published to us. Tuesday's Ship2B Showtime is the free read on impact dealflow.
Designers. NTT DATA runs two free early evenings: Wednesday on Latin America and AI, then Designing Tomorrow's Experiences on Thursday at 17:00.
Organiser spotlight: Barcelona4Impact
Three of the forty come from one programme. Barcelona4Impact opens the window on Friday at 13:00 with Who Actually Owns Sustainability? - where responsibility for sustainability actually sits inside a company - then runs AI for the Planet on Wednesday and Beyond Climate Tech on Thursday. All free, all willing to take the uncomfortable side of a question. New to the impact scene? Follow one organiser for a week instead of sampling six.
Worth knowing
- Four of the forty reach us with no venue. Friday's Barcelona4Impact session, Write the Docs and Wednesday's Innovation for Impact workshop are venue-on-registration. The fourth, Build It Better: Founders for Founders, has none because it is online, and says so.
- Two paid events arrive with no price: EuroRust 2026 and the 7th IESE International Search Fund Conference. We will write paid; we will not guess a number.
- No Catalan titles in the forty, and our language field still cannot hold `ca`. Twenty-eight rows read English, eleven Spanish, one - ACCIO's eco-design morning at the Disseny Hub on Tuesday - carries no language at all. If the language of the room matters, ask the organiser.
- One address to watch: Allianz Technology's Barcelona office hosted AI Engineers Barcelona on the 6th and hosts Thursday's security evening. Two serious technical rooms in ten days, one host.
- An "available" label still proves nothing - sold out, waitlist and invite-only all normalise back to available on ingest. Check the organiser's page, especially at Norrsken House.
A straight ask
Forty events is a real week and still not the whole city. Everything we hold sits on the Barcelona listings page, and that gap closed sharply in seven days because people sent things in. If you run something here - a Catalan-language meetup especially, since those are what our pipes handle worst - send it over. Readers this early shape the coverage.
