Berlin tech events this week: seven price tags and four free rooms (11–17 September 2026)
Berlin tech events 11-17 Sep 2026: 11 events, only 4 free, nothing before Monday.
€250. €299. €349. €395. €490. €598. €599. That is not a departures board — it is most of this week's Berlin tech events calendar. Eleven events run between 11 and 17 September, seven want a ticket, and only one of the four free ones is an evening. Berlin usually pays for its evenings in beer, not badges. This week it is the other way round.
So call it what it is: a breather week with one evening worth clearing the diary for, a free daytime run, and a conference season that arrived all at once. There is a hole at the front, too — nothing Friday, nothing across the weekend. The week starts on Monday and is finished by Wednesday night.
The Big One: the AI Act, argued in a room

The Right to a Human Decision — Tuesday 15 September, 18:00, Merantix AI Campus. Free.
Article 22 of the GDPR and the EU AI Act between them promise something most engineers have never had to implement: a right not to be decided about by a machine alone. This evening walks that territory — when the entitlement applies, what a human in the loop must do to count as one, and how any of it survives a product making ten thousand decisions an hour.
It is the pick of the week for a very Berlin reason: this city argues about the politics of the stack in public, then ships on Monday. Free, and the only curated evening event in the window. If you build anything that scores, ranks or rejects a human being, this is your room.
Free tech events in Berlin this week: four rooms, all Monday or Tuesday
Monday 14 September, 13:00 — MCP, AI & Workflows: The Softr x Make Hackathon, Impact Hub Berlin. Free. One afternoon to ship a working AI-powered business app on Softr, Make and MCP tooling, with both teams in the room. The best free slot of the week if you want output rather than notes.
Tuesday 15 September, 09:00 — AI Breakfast: Energy Solutions for German Industry, Merantix AI Campus. Free. Where AI is actually being applied to industrial energy: load forecasting, grid flexibility, process optimisation. Narrow, and better for it.
Tuesday 15 September, 10:00 — Berlin AI Day by buildersklub. Free. AI and automation applied to growth work, for operators inside small teams and agencies. No venue in our listing — the address comes with registration.
Tuesday 15 September, 18:00 — The Right to a Human Decision (above). Free.
The badges: seven tickets, three days
Monday opens with two. Chief of Staff Connect — Berlin Forum runs from 08:00, €250: board prep, prioritisation systems, and where AI genuinely takes work off an ops team. No venue in our listing. Accelerate Tomorrow AI Summit 2026 takes the Estrel Berlin from 09:00 at €490 — roughly 2,000 executives, enterprise AI strategy, deployment economics.
Tuesday stacks three more at 09:00: Growth Phestival 2026 at Birgit (€598, acquisition, retention, lifecycle), ProductLab Conf 09:00–17:00 hybrid from Berlin and online (€299), and Agentic AI Summit | Berlin at The Ritz-Carlton (€395) for the 300-plus engineers putting agents into production — evaluation harnesses and tool-calling reliability, not agent theatre.
Wednesday closes with Hatch Conference 2026, 09:00–18:00 (€349, founders, researchers, corporate innovation teams) and, from 18:00 at the Kulturbrauerei, Legal Tech Day & Legal Tech Night 2026 at €599 — contract automation, AI in document review, and the economics of a billing model AI is quietly dismantling.

Organiser spotlight: Merantix AI Campus
Two of this week's four free events happen at the Merantix AI Campus in Wedding, and that is a pattern, not a coincidence. In the last seven days alone the campus ran a women-in-AI breakfast, a voice-agents morning with ElevenLabs and Make, and a full free Developer Day. The house style holds: free, early, specific, unbothered about filling a hall. One place to watch in Berlin — make it this one.
Who should go where
Builders — Monday at Impact Hub if you want to leave with something running, Tuesday at Merantix if you want to leave with an argument. Founders — your week is mostly paid; Accelerate Tomorrow and Hatch have the widest rooms, and Monday's hackathon is the free alternative. Investors — quiet week. Hatch on Wednesday is the only room where founders and researchers gather in volume. Sales and marketing — Growth Phestival, knowing €598 buys a specialist day, not a mixer. Counting the pennies — skip the summits; three of the four free rooms land before lunch.
Last week, briefly
Berlin.rb #1 ran on Tuesday 8 September at Potsdamer Str. 121 — the corrected address we flagged a week ago held, so anyone going by our listing found the right building. The Ruby crowd now has a second edition to plan and a reason to. Nothing this week competes for the same room, which is exactly when a new meetup should book its next date.
Worth knowing
- A free four-month residency closes applications on 20 September. Merantix AI Campus is recruiting Hacker Room Cohort No.4, a free AI-engineering residency starting in October, on a campus claiming 80+ AI teams and 1,600+ community members. Contact is Sif Björnsdottir, Head of Community & Growth. It is a programme, not an event, so there is no anopenroom page to link — but if you are an engineer between things, this is the deadline of the month.
- Four listings have no venue this week — Chief of Staff Connect, Berlin AI Day, ProductLab Conf and Hatch Conference. Register and read the confirmation mail rather than turning up hopeful.
- Legal Tech Day & Legal Tech Night runs over two days. Our listing shows a Wednesday 18:00 start and a 17:00 finish — that is the second day's close, not a typo. Start time from us, running order from the organiser.
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday are empty. That is our coverage as much as the city's, and the fastest way to change it is to tell us what we missed.
Eleven events, four free, one evening that earns the trip. Everything live sits on the Berlin events page — if you run something here that is not on it, send it over. Quiet weeks are when a new listing actually gets read.
