Berlin tech events this week: seven rooms, one very expensive summit, and a page that grew back (25 September – 1 October 2026)

Last Friday this page carried three Berlin events, and we told you the number was about us rather than about Berlin. The research run has since landed: that same window now shows sixteen. So when we say our Berlin tech events page holds seven rooms for 25 September to 1 October, five of them free, read it as a real week and not a gap in our sourcing.

It is still the thinnest week of the twelve cities we cover. It also has a shape, which a busy week rarely does: a working Saturday, one expensive summit on Monday, a Tuesday split between builders and a newsroom, and a Thursday that opens a three-day conference and closes with a beer in Alt-Treptow. Nothing on Friday, nothing on Sunday, and — the real hole — nothing at all on Wednesday.

Seven events. Enough room to say something useful about every one of them.

The Big One: two days on the unglamorous half of the stack

AI Infrastructure Summit 2026 — Monday 28 September from 09:00, Maritim proArte Hotel Berlin, Friedrichstraße 151. EUR 1,495, running two days.

The only featured event on the board, and by a wide margin the most expensive thing on it. we.CONECT skips the model conversation entirely and spends two days on compute procurement, storage architecture, data pipelines and the operational discipline that stops a training run dying quietly at three in the morning. No demos of chatbots. Sourcing, capacity, cost per token, the people who sign the contracts.

At EUR 1,495 this is not a room you wander into. It is for whoever owns the infrastructure line on your budget, and for anyone selling to that person — they are all in Mitte on Monday and Tuesday. If that is not you, the rest of the week costs nothing.

Saturday is the build day

Monad Blitz Berlin Hackathon — Saturday 26 September, 09:00, CIC Berlin, Lohmühlenstraße 65. Free.

Encode Club runs a one-day hackathon for developers building on Monad's EVM: workshops through the morning, then roughly seven hours of building. Web3 in this city usually arrives as a conference badge and a sponsor lounge. This is the other kind.

Berlin Physical AI Workshop and Meetup — Saturday 26 September, 13:30, MotionLab.Berlin, Bouchéstraße 12, Halle 20. Free.

Nebius and Voxel51 take a hands-on afternoon at MotionLab on physical AI: robot sensor data, computer-vision datasets, the FiftyOne toolchain. Narrow, technical, and the only room this week where the models meet the physical world rather than a text box. Both Saturday events sit a few streets apart in 12435: hack through the morning, walk over at half one.

Tuesday: a build day and a newsroom

Builders & Brews Berlin — Hack Edition — Tuesday 29 September, 09:00, w3.hub, Möckernstraße 120, Kreuzberg. Free.

Nebius and Tavily bring their builder series to Berlin as a full build day, running alongside the Nebius Global AI Hackathon they are doing with NVIDIA. Daytime, so it costs you a Tuesday rather than a ticket — the trade every employed engineer in this city has to negotiate.

Working Responsibly with AI — AI for Media Meetup #9 — Tuesday 29 September, 13:00, dpa Deutsche Presse-Agentur, Rudi-Dutschke-Straße 2. Free.

The ninth AI for Media meetup, hosted inside dpa's Berlin headquarters: provenance and governance, bias in editorial data, and what responsible actually has to mean when a newsroom ships. Featured, free, and very much this city's specialism: Berlin argues about the politics of the stack in public, then goes back to work. If you build tooling near publishing, the buyers are in that room.

Thursday: a conference opens, the weekly closes

bitcoin++ payments edition — from Thursday 1 October, three days. Paid; our listing carries no price figure, and no venue either, so the address comes with your confirmation.

The payments edition of the developer-focused bitcoin++ series, on Bitcoin and Lightning engineering. Deeply technical rather than market-facing: if you are here for price talk you will have a bad three days.

Thursday Gathering #72 — Thursday 1 October, 17:00, CIC Berlin, Lohmühlenstraße 65. Free.

Venture Café's weekly, back for its seventy-second edition: talks and sessions, demo tables where founders show what they are building, a room that keeps turning over. #71 ran last Thursday. The most reliable open door in Berlin, and the right answer for anyone new here.

Venue corner: everything happens in 12435

Three of the seven land in one postcode. CIC Berlin on Lohmühlenstraße hosts twice — Saturday's hackathon and Thursday's gathering — and MotionLab.Berlin on Bouchéstraße takes Saturday afternoon, a few streets away. Learn one address in this city and make it Lohmühlenstraße 65.

Who should go where

Builders: Saturday, twice — Monad Blitz if you write contracts, MotionLab if you work with sensors and vision. If you can clear only one slot all week, make it Tuesday afternoon at dpa.

Founders: Thursday at CIC. The demo tables are the only structured chance this week to put your product in front of strangers, and Venture Café's crowd actually asks questions.

Infrastructure and platform people: Monday and Tuesday at the Maritim, if someone else is paying. Otherwise Tuesday's build day at w3.hub gets you a fraction of the same conversation for nothing.

Investors: an honest quiet week — no pitch night, no demo day. Thursday's demo tables are the only place dealflow congregates, early-stage and informal. Take Thursday or sit it out.

Worth knowing

• bitcoin++ has no venue and no price on our listing. It is marked paid with no figure, so do not plan a budget off our page — register and read the confirmation mail for the address.
• Wednesday 30 September is empty. Not a research gap this time, just how the week fell. If you run something on a Wednesday in Berlin, this was the week to own.
• Nebius turns up twice in four days — with Voxel51 on Saturday, with Tavily on Tuesday, NVIDIA in the background of both.
• All seven events are listed as English-language. Berlin being Berlin, expect German in the corridors at dpa and at the Maritim regardless.
