Berlin tech events this week: 47 people going to the meetup we didn't spotlight
Berlin tech events 6-12 Nov: Yoshua Bengio opens Berlin Science Week today, 19 events on the page, 14 free, Thursday carries six.
Berlin.rb #3 reached our page on 3 November: free, Le Wagon in Kreuzberg, 47 people going, Andrzej Krzywda of Arkency on "Rails architecture in the age of AI". No spotlight - the week's slots were gone before it arrived, so a Ruby meetup at a school that teaches Ruby went up unbadged. That is the shape of tech events in Berlin this week: 19 on the city page between this morning and Thursday night, 14 free, more good rooms than a front page can carry.
The big one: Berlin Science Week opens this afternoon
Fri 6 Nov, 14:00 - In Touch: Berlin Science Week Festival Centre Opening, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, free to register.
<img src="https://joezfbehxxpcrpliygvo.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/hero-images/event-berlin-in-touch-berlin-science-week-festival-centre-opening-1106.webp" alt="In Touch: Berlin Science Week Festival Centre Opening at Haus der Kulturen der Welt" class="w-full rounded-lg my-6" loading="lazy" />
Ninety minutes at HKW on what AI is doing to science and public life, with Yoshua Bengio as the centrepiece. German and English mixed. It opens the Festival Centre rather than closing a conference, so the room stays in use all week. Go for the research-and-public-interest end of Berlin AI; skip it if you want product.
The week ahead, by how much of your week it takes
A badge for two days
LeadDev Berlin 2026 - Mon 9 Nov, 10:00, Estrel Congress Center, EUR 1,599. Engineering leaders, programmed around what AI adoption does to engineering organisations. Employer pays, or you do not go.
Digital Technologies Days 2026 - Mon 9 Nov, 13:30, WECC Westhafen, free, in German. The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space puts research, industry and policy in one hall on how digital technology leaves the pilot stage. The highest-scoring event on our page, and it is free.

BSides Berlin 2026 - Thu 12 Nov, 10:30, CIC Berlin, EUR 99. Year six of the community-run security conference. Thursday is a state-recognised full-day training; talks come after.
A day
Claude Impact Lab x Foresight Institute - Sat 7 Nov, 11:00, CIC Berlin, free. Domain scientists next to AI engineers, turning one open research problem into a working agent. The week's only build day, on a Saturday.
Industry Meets AI Startups 2026 - Thu 12 Nov, 16:30, Merantix AI Campus, free. Merantix Momentum with HANNOVER MESSE on production, logistics and energy. Showcases, not slides.
AI Compliance Day - Tue 10 Nov, 09:30, Maritim proArte, EUR 640, in German. How you evidence conformity when the system keeps changing. A procurement room, priced like one.
Three more daytime rooms, all in German: the TEDxBerlin Salon on leadership at The Delta Campus (Mon, paid, no figure), Bitkom's Software x AI at the EUREF-Campus Gasometer on where software still creates value once AI writes the code (Mon, free), and Bitkom's DigiFin26 at KOSMOS on German finance (Tue, paid, no agenda published five days out).
An evening
AI for Freedom - Trustworthy AI in the Justice System - Sun 8 Nov, 19:00, GLS Campus Berlin, free, in German. Case management and legal process, where a model error lands on somebody's fundamental rights. On a Sunday, which tells you which city this is.
Berlin.rb #3 - Tue 10 Nov, Le Wagon Berlin, Rudi-Dutschke-Straße 26, free, registration open. Correction: our row says 19:30; it runs 18:30 to 22:00. There is a livestream and we have not listed it. Go to the room.
Thursday Gathering #78 - Thu 12 Nov, CIC Berlin, free. Venture Café's weekly, this week on what quantum computing does to Bitcoin's cryptography. Our row opens at 18:00; the Race Against the Machine block runs 18:45 to 20:00.
Four more, all free: AI4Science at Merantix on the research loop once AI touches every step (Mon), AI, Work, and Social Inequality at the WZB (Tue, German), SIBB's Agentic AI for SMEs on which processes suit an agent (Wed, German, the only thing on our page that day), and the Pre-Incubation Club kickoff at the Lanolinfabrik, for an early idea with no programme behind it (Thu). Thursday closes at the KERB Food Hall with Founder Meet&Greet & Cofounder Search: our row says 20:00, the listing 19:00 to 21:00.
By the numbers
Thursday carries six of the nineteen, Monday five, Wednesday one. Seven run in German, one in both. Two buildings hold seven: CIC Berlin four, Merantix three.
Hidden gem: a working day, not a talk
AI Safety Lunch + Coworking @ CIC - Thu 12 Nov, CIC Berlin, free. AI Safety Berlin takes the Æthos space on the third floor for open coworking, 10:00 to 18:00, lunch in the middle. Our row says 11:00; the listing starts at 10:00.
The only room this week that does not expect you to face a stage. Bring a laptop, work, and the conversation happens because two people spent eight hours in the same space. Cheaper social effort than a panel, and it gets you further in.
Who should go where
Investors, quiet week, one answer: Digital Technologies Days, where federal research money, industry and policy share a hall for two days, free. No demo day, no pitch night: dealflow means Thursday Gathering at CIC.
Builders, Tuesday and Thursday. Berlin.rb if you write Ruby or want architecture argued, not demoed. Thursday sets BSides's certified training against the AI Safety coworking: a certificate, or eight hours beside the people doing the work.
Founders, Thursday night splits by stage. Early idea, no programme: Pre-Incubation Club. Hunting a co-founder: KERB at 19:00. Selling into industry: Industry Meets AI Startups at 16:30, then walk to CIC.
Sales and marketing, skip the conferences. DigiFin26 is the only buyer-heavy room and has no published agenda; Software x AI suits you better.
Worth knowing
- HACKLAB, 21-22 November: the form is the gate, not the Luma approval. They hold 1,000 applications; acceptances go out this week. The `tally.so/r/vXGxx8` form is mandatory - in their words, no form, no spot. If you applied and skipped it, fix that today. Our stored end time is wrong too: 19:00 CET, not 17:45.
- Nullcon's second conference day is today, 6 November, at the Maritim proArte. Trainings ran 2 to 4 November, so a talks-only ticket starts this morning.
- Three rows disagree with their own listing text on start times - DigiFin26, AI Safety Lunch, Founder Meet&Greet. Take the earlier one in each.
- Hack Day Berlin, 20 November: EUR 16, EUR 10 early bird (42 commIT members only), EUR 5 student.
- Our price field defaults to free when an organiser publishes nothing, so "free" on this week's institutional rooms is derived, not confirmed. Every event sits in the database twice, once per language; the German page is no machine translation.
Tell us what we are missing
Doors at CIC open at 18:00 on Thursday, and the lobby is the cheapest introduction in Berlin. After this week: Unicon at CODE University on the 13th, then AI Engineering Summit and MLcon stacked at the Maritim on the 16th. Browse the full Berlin listings.
And if you run something shaped like Berlin.rb - free, 47 going, no marketing budget - send it before the spotlights are gone.
