Bristol tech events this week: Brazen takes four days, and Tuesday holds twelve
Thirty-three Bristol tech events, 6-12 Nov 2026.
Three weeks ago we wrote that Brazen, Bristol's own tech festival, was missing from our city page and that the gap was ours. It is there now: eleven of this week's rows belong to techSPARK, and the festival shapes the rest. Thirty-three Bristol tech events between this morning and Thursday night, the busiest week on our page outside London and Berlin. Twelve land on Tuesday.
Today, then nothing until Monday
FinTech West Conference 2026 - Fri 6 Nov, 09:30, We The Curious, free to register. The eighth annual one, a full day on where financial services and technology meet in the South West. We teased it last week at roughly 500 registered, one day past our cut-off. It is today.

Organiser spotlight: techSPARK, and four days of Brazen
The paid spine is the Summit at St Nicholas Church, three mornings from 09:30. Day 1, Technology Leadership in a Changing World on Mon 9 Nov covers where tech investment is paying off and where it is not. Day 2, AI, Work and the Infrastructure Behind It on Tue 10 Nov is opened by Dr Daniel Duma on what agentic AI can do today. Day 4, Scaling, Impact and the Road to Exit on Thu 12 Nov is for founders and their backers, opened by Tilly Lockey. All three are paid and none publishes a face price.
The free programme sits at The Station on Silver Street, and Monday afternoon is the deepest stretch: First-time founders at 13:35, What's So Special About Bristol? at 14:05, Lead Lightning at 15:00. Then Brazen AI: Small, Smart and Good for Bristol on Tue 16:00 - the city hosts Isambard-AI, so this one is not hypothetical - 400 Million Reasons to Rethink Tech on Wed 13:30, and From Borrowed Tanks to 1,500 Shareholders on Thu 13:00, Bruce Gray on Left Handed Giant's run to eight venues.
The pick is not on a stage. The Brazen Lab Bus tours run three times Monday - 09:30, 12:00 and 14:30 - a minibus through Open Bionics, WASE and Smartbox, half an hour in each. Working labs do not take visitors, and those are the companies Bristol is known for. Take the 14:30; it ends with drinks.
The rest of the week, by argument
What AI costs. Data centre dilemmas - Wed 11 Nov, 18:00, The Foundation, free - campaigners and researchers on the energy, water and neighbours behind the build-out, Kierra Box of Friends of the Earth opening. Who's being left behind? - Thu 12 Nov, 10:00, RWK Goodman, free - ninety minutes on who gets shut out.
The pitch, and the money. Pitching 101 - Tue 10 Nov, 10:00, NatWest Accelerator Hub, free - a pitch as storytelling, not a deck walk-through. SETsquared: Founder Mindset - Tue 14:00, Sloane Robinson Building, free - treating rejection as data. Electra Female Founder Dinner - Tue 18:30, £7.50 - third of five, no pitching.
Build nights. Hack the Gap - Thu 12 Nov, 09:00, Hargreaves Lansdown, free - a one-day hackathon, teams of women using AI and real data on the gender pay gap, rules insisting on a working output. AI automations - Wed 18:00, DeskLodge House, free - two live demos, no talks. PHP-SW Lightning talks - Wed 18:30, Temple Studios, free - last of the year. AI + Architecture - Wed 18:00, Design West, £8 - George Proud of Gendo on generative AI from image to built thing.
By the numbers
Thirty-three events. Twenty-six read as free; of the seven paid rooms, only two publish a figure - £7.50 for Electra, £8 for the architecture evening. Tuesday twelve, Monday seven, Wednesday and Thursday six each, Friday two, the weekend none. Only ten start after 17:00, so this week wants a day off.
Who should go where
Sales and marketing, Tuesday afternoon at Our Media. Two free hours in one building: Ambitious at 13:00 on who controls what an AI assistant tells a prospect about you, then 404: Human Insight Not Found at 14:30 on where AI still needs a person. If your inbound dried up this year, the 13:00 is the one.
Founders, pick a lane on Monday. Pay for Summit Day 1, or take the free Station track from 13:35 to 15:00. Do not stitch both together. If you are raising, Thursday's Day 4 is the one.
Builders, Wednesday is a four-way. Three rooms at 18:00, a fourth at 18:30. Two live automations at DeskLodge beats three talks if you want something you can copy. Hack the Gap on Thursday is the only room where you ship. The South West Data Social at Watershed, Tuesday 19:00, has no programme at all, which some weeks is the point.
Investors: Summit Days 1 and 4 hold the people who back Bristol companies. Both paid, neither priced. No demo night this week.
Worth knowing
The Bristol AI Shed 2026 finale on Tuesday is sold out. The organiser confirmed it full on 3 November. Our listing still reads as available because the availability field has no write path, so the register button lies. Tuesday holds eleven other rooms.
The Brazen prices are not what they look like. The Summit days are paid and publish no face price anywhere public, and the free badges on the community-track rooms are not confirmed either - our price column writes "free" when an organiser supplies nothing. Read them as free to register. Our links point at techSPARK rather than the festival's own ticketing, because those ticket pages render empty.
Summit Day 3 is not on our city page, and Friday the 13th falls outside this week - Stop Hiring for Yesterday and Why Weird Works, both free at The Station.
Electra's dinner needs a phone call. We flagged it sold out last week, with the organiser's date not matching ours. This week's row has it on Tue 10 Nov at £7.50 and no venue at all. Confirm both before planning the evening.
The Big One: Conversations on AI, Tuesday at 17:30
Conversations on AI: Can Bristol Shape AI for Good? - Tue 10 Nov, 17:30, KPMG Bristol, paid, no figure on our row. AI West runs it, inside the Brazen programme.
<img src="https://joezfbehxxpcrpliygvo.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/hero-images/event-bristol-conversations-on-ai-can-bristol-shape-ai-for-good-1110.webp" alt="Conversations on AI: Can Bristol Shape AI for Good? at KPMG Bristol" class="w-full rounded-lg my-6" loading="lazy" />
It carries the highest heat on our Bristol page this week, and the question is the draw: who decides what AI does to people, communities and work, and whether Bristol gets a voice in that argument. An interactive panel, so the room is expected to speak. It gets the last word because the week has been circling it - other rooms count what AI costs; this one asks whether the city gets a say. Then AI West does it again across town at 19:45: Claude Have Mercy at Dareshack, Kester Brewin of the Institute for the Future of Work on which jobs change. Same night, same organiser, back to back.
Send it direct
Brazen's programme took us three weeks to get onto the page properly, which is an argument for not waiting for us to find you. Running something in Bristol before Christmas? Send it and the next edition carries it. All thirty-three are at anopenroom.com/bristol. Back next Friday, once Brazen has packed up.
