Tech events in Dublin this week: use these ten, December is bare (23-29 October 2026)
Ten Dublin tech events, 23-29 Oct 2026: four on Wednesday alone, a UCD hackathon, AWS at the Button Factory, and accessibility leads from four big tech firms.
Tech events in Dublin this week: use these ten, December is bare (23-29 October 2026)
Dublin's tech calendar runs out in about five weeks. We sweep Eventbrite, Meetup, createwith and plain search every night, and there are three in-person Dublin tech events in the whole of December. The weeks of 30 November and 7 December have nothing on the city page at all. That's not a gap in our sourcing — it's what the city has published so far. So use the next seven days properly: ten tech events in Dublin between Friday 23 and Thursday 29 October, four of them stacked on one Wednesday.
By the numbers
Ten events. Four on Wednesday the 28th, three on Tuesday the 27th, nothing at the weekend. Every single row is stored as free, and that's the number to be careful with: our price field defaults to free when an organiser publishes nothing at all. For the community meetups below it's accurate. For the two institutional days — the Royal Irish Academy workshop and the Qiskit Fall Fest at Trinity — read the registration page before you assume.
The week ahead, by what actually happens in the room
Someone builds something in front of you. The UCD Student Hackathon runs from 16:00 on Tuesday 27th at the UCD Innovation Academy in the O'Brien Centre for Science, free, with UCD Careers, on a single brief: how might we prepare UCD graduates for the jobs of the future. AI Tinkerers Dublin x PostHog is a demo night on Wednesday 28th at 18:30, free, PostHog as marquee sponsor and Baseline as venue partner — working software rather than slides, though our row still carries no street address. And Quantum Connections, day one of IBM's Qiskit Fall Fest at Trinity, opens Tuesday 27th at 10:00 in the CONNECT Centre at the O'Reilly Institute.

You'll be taking notes. AWS UG Dublin — Build What's Next! takes over the Button Factory on Curved Street, Tuesday 27th at 17:45, free, an evening of practitioner talks on building and running things on AWS. On Wednesday morning the Royal Irish Academy and ALLEA host AI in Research: Benefits and Risks for Ethics and Integrity from 10:00 — ALLEA's Research Ethics and Integrity Council plus invited experts on what generative AI is doing to research practice. Same morning, same hour, the Guinness Enterprise Centre and Techies Go Green ask what really drives a product carbon footprint, free, part of the GEC Sustainability Cluster. Then Dub|Sec in the Abbey Room at the Camden Court, Wednesday from 18:30: Isabella Sparks on Threatcraft at 19:00, Aaron Ott at 19:40, and a bar.
It's just the people. The Games Co-Op: Shock and Awe-ctober takes the back room of The Circular in Rialto on Monday 26th at 19:00, free — presentations, playtesting, and Ireland's game development community in one place. October Start-up Café is TU Dublin's monthly coffee morning for aspiring founders at the Greenway Hub in Grangegorman, Thursday 29th, 10:00 to 12:00, with a guest each edition.
First-timer's note
A door time is not a start time. Dub|Sec opens at 18:30 and the first talk is at 19:00, and that half hour is the actual networking — turn up at 19:05 and you've skipped the part worth coming for. The reverse is true of the morning sessions: a 10:00 workshop start means 10:00. And since almost everything here is free to RSVP, organisers plan catering off the count. If you can't make it, un-RSVP.
Who should go where
Founders first. Thursday morning at the Greenway Hub is the easiest room in the city to walk into cold, and Monday night at The Circular if you're building games. Skip the UCD hackathon — it's a student brief and you're not the audience, though UCD Careers being in the room makes it a decent place to meet early hires.
Investors, there's nothing for you this week. No demo day, no pitch night, no showcase. Dublin Demo Day was last Friday at Dogpatch and it's gone. If you have one evening, spend it on this afternoon's accessibility talks for who's in the room rather than what's on stage.
Builders, Wednesday is the decision. Dub|Sec and AI Tinkerers both open at 18:30, and one of them hasn't published an address, so Dub|Sec is the safer booking if you're travelling in. Tuesday is the better technical day overall: Qiskit in the morning, AWS User Group at 17:45.
Sales and marketing, it's thin. The Shopify evening and The Builders Club were both last Thursday. Your one room is this afternoon.
Worth knowing
Wednesday 21 October looked empty on the Dublin page because we left the only room off it. The AI-Ready Workforce roundtable was free, capped and approval-gated — and run by a recruitment agency, handing attendees a "Talent Competitor Report" valued at €400, while barring recruitment agencies and talent service providers from attending. That's a supplier's room, not a tech room. We'd rather show you an empty Wednesday.
PyCon Ireland on 21 November will not appear on the Dublin city page. Its listing has no published start time, so it sits at midnight and the city page filters it out, and pycon.ie still publishes no schedule. Ireland's flagship Python conference is effectively invisible to us. Go direct.
We were double-carding Zyte's Extract Summit on 10 November — two rows, one event, same date and venue. One is gone. We also pulled the AI in Automotive event on 23 November off the city page and took its spotlight away: vendor-sponsored, no named speakers, €54.59.
Twenty of our Dublin Eventbrite listings now point at dead pages. None of them is on the city page, so this week's picks are clean, but organiser pages still carry links that 404.
Dogpatch Labs has published no public calendar for four of our sweeps — its events URL redirects to the Future Founders Residency. Last Friday's Demo Day happened there anyway, run by Superteam Ireland. Follow organisers, not buildings.
The one to clear this afternoon for
Dublin Accessibility Talks starts at 16:00 this afternoon at Anantara The Marker, free, and it carries the highest interest score of anything in the Dublin week. The European Disability Forum has brought accessibility leads from four of the largest technology companies into one room to talk about what actually gets built, not what gets promised in a compliance deck.
Two reasons to go. First, the people who own accessibility inside Dublin's largest employers are rarely all in one room, and the gap between what a company says it ships and what it ships is exactly what they'll be describing. Second, it's the best networking event in the city this week by some distance: senior, specific, and small enough to talk in. If you build product, design interfaces or write front-end code here, this is the hour.

The full week is on the Dublin listings page. If you're running something in December, send it to us — the month is nearly empty and early listings get read properly. Travelling? Bristol's calendar is here.
