The most wanted room in Paris this week is free, opens at 18:00 on Tuesday, and has no address on our page. OpenAI Builder Lounge Paris carries the highest score of anything on our Paris tech events listings, costs nothing, and lists no venue at all — the location arrives with your registration. The big one: AI Engineer comes to STATION F

The AI Engineer series has spent two years defining a job title, and it arrives in Paris with more than 1,000 AI engineers, founders and technical leaders, and Mistral as anchor partner. The billing is engineering, not strategy. At €450 it is the dearest line on the board, and the one where the room is the product — STATION F on a conference day is a corridor as much as a stage.

The pairing is what makes this a week rather than a day. OpenAI Builder Lounge Paris runs the night before — Tuesday 22 September, 18:00, free — bringing OpenAI's EMEA team to meet developers and founders building on the platform: short product walkthroughs, practical guidance, and the people who maintain the thing you are integrating. If you can only do one, and you build rather than buy, Tuesday is the better evening and it costs €450 less.

Monday 21 September gives you two free rooms an hour apart. Agentic AI Meetup with Google opens at 18:00 at École 42, Boulevard Bessières — agent frameworks and tooling, for people shipping agents rather than reading about them. An hour later AI Builders Meetup #8 takes the bar of the Empire Hotel on Rue de l'Arbre Sec, 19:00, free, in French: eighth edition, concrete accounts, a deliberately mixed crowd. On Thursday, Turning AI Strategy Into Live Value puts ProductTank Paris at 5 Degrés on Rue de la Bourse, 19:00, free, on the gap between a board-level AI strategy and a pile of stalled pilots.

Data+AI meetup with Databricks — Tuesday 22 September, 17:00, Patchwork Montholon, free — governance, feature and vector storage, and where data platforms and AI workloads actually converge. Databricks returns Thursday in a different format: Databricks Genie Hackathon for Finance, from 08:30 at STATION F, free, a full day on reconciliation, risk reporting and natural-language query over financial data. It costs you the day, not the money. That evening DuckDB — Paris Meetup meets at Algolia, 55 Rue d'Amsterdam, 18:30, free.

The craft of the code

The window opens Friday 18 September with dotJS 2026 at the Folies Bergère, 09:00, €390 — Europe's largest JavaScript conference, single track, theatre staging, around 1,500 developers, the day after dotAI in the same room. Wednesday then splits at 19:00: Software Crafters Paris runs as an open space at Néosoft on Rue de Tolbiac, free, in French, topics proposed on the night; Node.js Paris, Season 14 Episode #1 — Algolia opens its fourteenth season at Algolia, free, in French. Two good rooms, same hour, opposite ends of one discipline.

Design, image and hardware

Make your Design System AI-ready — Tuesday 22 September, 18:45, Hexa on Rue Martel, free — token structure, naming, and the machine-readable layer most design systems still lack. Paris XR #21: AR/AI Glasses and Discussion closes the week at Artifex Lab in the 11th, Thursday 19:00, free, in French, on smart glasses now the products have finally reached people.

Go-to-market

Outbound Cup 2026 takes STATION F's Open Platform on Friday 18 September from 09:00, €99 — 400 teams, more than 1,000 participants, cold calls scored live on quality and qualification. The least fashionable event of the week, and the only one where sales people get a scoreboard.

Hidden gem: the SIGGRAPH debrief at the CNC

Back from SIGGRAPH 2026 — Los Angeles — Tuesday 22 September, 18:00, CNC, 291 Boulevard Raspail. Free, in French.

Cap Digital and 3DVF bring the annual SIGGRAPH debrief to the national film centre: French delegates who went to Los Angeles report back on computer graphics and interactive techniques. The most Parisian item on the board — a free evening inside a public cultural institution, about research most people read six months late. We flagged it because it is the only event this week not about language models.

Who should go where

Builders — if you have one evening, take Tuesday's OpenAI Builder Lounge: free, capped, platform people in the room. Missed the cap? Monday at École 42. Founders — Wednesday at STATION F, and treat the corridors as the agenda; if €450 is not defensible this quarter, Tuesday night puts you near the same crowd for nothing. Data and platform people — Thursday twice over: the free Genie hackathon takes the day, DuckDB takes the evening, and both is realistic. Product — Thursday at ProductTank, the one room aimed at the organisational problem rather than the technical one. Sales and marketing — Friday's Outbound Cup or nothing; this is a builders' week and the generic mixers are simply not on the board. Investors — your week is quiet. No demo day, no pitch night. Scout Wednesday or sit it out.
