About this event

Nick Couldry of the LSE presents his new book Predatory AI: How We Can Resist Corporate Capture of the Human Mind, then opens the floor. His argument is that the terms on which we are handing cognitive work over to AI models are set by the companies that own them, and that this is a social contract worth refusing rather than an inevitability. Co-hosted by the UCD Centre for Digital Policy and the Research Ireland ADAPT Centre at Trinity College Dublin, as part of the Horizon Europe Forsee project. 17:00 to 19:00 in the Robert Emmet Theatre. Free. Why go: a serious critic of the AI industry, in person, with time for argument afterwards. Best for people building AI products who want to hear the strongest version of the case against how it is being done.
