about this room
Two Postgres talks in a King's Cross pub, sponsored by ClickHouse.
Greg Clough from DRW runs a production post-mortem: dynamic queries with tens of thousands of parameters saturated pg_stat_statements, caused exclusive lock stalls and cascaded into a Patroni high-availability cluster. Jonathan Katz from Databricks follows with a quick tour of what's coming in PostgreSQL 19.
Welcome from 18:30, first talk 19:00, food at 19:45, second talk 20:00, then people stay on. Free, but register so the organisers can count heads.
a real outage story from a trading firm is worth more than any vendor deck on observability, and Katz is a core Postgres contributor. Best for backend engineers and anyone running Postgres in production at a startup.
