About this event

The Elixir Language Milano community meets for a technical session on one of the trickiest parts of running Elixir in production: talking to native code without taking down the virtual machine. The talk works through the interop options available on the BEAM — Ports and C Nodes in particular — and why they are the safer choice when a NIF would put the whole runtime at risk. Expect concrete patterns for isolating native work, handling failure at the boundary, and reasoning about supervision when part of your system lives outside the VM. Aimed at Elixir and Erlang developers with production systems to protect. Free to attend.
