A weekend hackathon for developers, founders, engineers, students and AI builders, run by lablab.ai at SmartCityLab Milano. Teams of up to six build end-to-end AI applications, agents or developer tools on cloud-accessible AMD GPUs and the ROCm software stack. Doors open at 09:00 on Saturday with welcome remarks at 10:00, mentors are on hand across the weekend, submissions close at 16:00 on Sunday and live pitching starts at 17:00. There is a $5,000 prize pool and no previous hackathon experience is needed. Registration is through the event's Luma page, and the organisers ask participants to come with a laptop and, ideally, a team already formed, though solo entrants are matched on the day. GPUs and cloud credits are provided by the organisers, and the venue stays open across both days for teams that want to keep building overnight.

For Hacktoberfest, Coding Bunker changes format: no talks and no slides, just a fully hands-on hack day building projects with open source technologies, open source AI and open-weight models. A full day to actually build and contribute.

The ninth edition of Focus magazine's science, technology and innovation festival, held inside Milan's national science and technology museum under the theme "Intelligenze". Technology and AI form one of five thematic strands, alongside a 1,600 square metre interactive area with live demos and labs. The Milan edition of Italy’s national Linux Day, the country’s largest annual event on GNU/Linux, free software and open culture, running since 2001 under the Italian Linux Society. Organised by two university communities — POuL at the Politecnico and unixMiB at Milano-Bicocca — and hosted in the Trifoglio building on Campus Leonardo. Talks, workshops, exhibitor stands and technical help desks span Linux, software development, machine learning, big data, self-hosting, privacy, retro gaming and computing history.
