The Fabric & Power BI Manchester User Group turns its August meetup into an interactive murder mystery built entirely on Microsoft Fabric. Across a live investigation, attendees explore reports, analyse streaming clues, interact with a grounded Data Agent and vote on the culprit — before the end-to-end Fabric architecture behind the experience is revealed, showing how batch and real-time data, Direct Lake semantic modelling, Power BI and AI combine into a single solution applicable to IoT, operational monitoring and support analytics. Doors 5:30pm, talk from 6pm, with drinks and pizza courtesy of hosts Slalom and sponsor Robert Walters.

with Obi Iheanachor (Speaker, PBIMCR) · Andy Cutler (Speaker, PBIMCR)
The long-running Fabric & Power BI Manchester User Group (PBIMCR) returns for a July evening of data and analytics talks, hosted at ANS Group in Hulme. This session features Obi Iheanachor and Andy Cutler sharing practical, hands-on insight into Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. Free to attend and going strong after nearly a decade, it's one of the North West's most established data communities — well worth it for BI developers, data analysts, engineers and anyone building analytics into their business.
Two sharp talks at Spinningfields: Alan Harman-Box explores what it means when AI agents can build Power BI reports and write DAX (and who owns the output), followed by Bob Pearman of Forge Holiday Group on implementing medallion architecture and Data Vault 2.0 in Microsoft Fabric. Drinks and pizza included.
