Dipartimento di Neuroscienze Umane, Sapienza Università di Roma, 00185 Roma

with Claudia Piervincenzi (Coordinatrice scientifica, Health AI Labs by SIIAM) · Nikolaos Petsas (Coordinatore organizzativo, Health AI Labs by SIIAM)

The fifth meeting of a monthly hands-on lab, back in the calendar after the summer break, for people who want to turn a clinical idea, a ward-level problem or a research question into a working AI solution. It is not a lecture: participants build, test and develop solutions on real problems, in the Aula Multimediale of Sapienza's Department of Human Neuroscience. Bring your own laptop and expect to stay to the end. The series is run by SIIAM, the Italian Society for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, under Sapienza's patronage. Registration is on Luma and subject to host approval, with 25 places and a waitlist. The session runs in Italian. Why go: one of very few rooms in Rome where clinicians and engineers build together instead of talking about AI in medicine from a stage. Twenty-five places and a screened door mean the people at the table know the subject. Right for doctors, researchers and developers working on health data.

CR
Casa dell'Architettura di Roma, 00185 Roma

Two days at Rome's Casa dell'Architettura where the housing ecosystem meets to work through the changes under way: communications, digital platforms, data and services reshaping the property and residential market. The format pairs content sessions with structured meetings between companies, professionals, partners and stakeholders, built to generate introductions rather than stop at presentations. Organised by CASA RADIO. Free access to the full 19 and 20 October programme, with a networking aperitivo and dinner on the 19th. Why go: proptech in Italy still sells through the incumbents, and this is the room where the platforms and the developers, agents and housing operators who buy from them are both present. Go if you are building or selling software into property, construction or residential services and need the commercial side of that market rather than another technology panel.

Piazzale Mediterraneo, Fiumicino

A four-day expoforum on the marine economy at Piazzale Mediterraneo in Fiumicino, in the Rome metropolitan area, now in its eighth edition. The programme spans ports and logistics, shipbuilding, offshore energy, environmental monitoring and the digital technologies running through all of them: sensing, satellite data, modelling and platforms for managing maritime infrastructure. Organised by Fiera Roma with Regione Lazio and the Rome Chamber of Commerce, which together fund up to 28 selected Lazio startups and SMEs to exhibit. No public visitor price is published on the organiser's page. Why go: the blue economy is one of the few sectors where Lazio has real industrial depth, and the funded startup pavilion means the companies on the floor are selling, not just presenting. Useful for founders in sensing, satellite data or environmental monitoring looking for Mediterranean buyers.

with Nadine Methner (Head of Business Banking, ING Italia) · Ilaria La Manna (Creative Director and tech expert, Independent) · Dario Costantini (National President, CNA) + 1 more

ING Business Banking and Fondazione Mondo Digitale bring their WeLead format to Rome with CNA Impresa Donna and Citta Metropolitana di Roma Capitale, for an afternoon of short talks and hands-on work on digital tools, communication and personal branding. The centrepiece is a ninety-minute creative-thon, run twice, in which teams use AI to turn a real business problem into a new product or service and then pitch it in sixty seconds. Speakers include Nadine Methner, Head of Business Banking at ING Italia, CNA national president Dario Costantini and Lucia De Grimani of CNA Impresa Donna. Check-in from 14:30, closing aperitivo at 18:00. The exact venue is on Via Quattro Novembre; no venue name is published. Why go: most AI-for-business events are panels. This one makes you build something and defend it in a minute. For women running or starting a business who want the tools in their hands.

Speakers include Emanuele Levi and Claudia Pingue of CDP Venture Capital, Davide Turco of the Italian Tech Alliance, Raffaele Gallo of Banca d'Italia and Gianni Cuozzo of Exein. Day two is the Fare Venture 2 open day, walking through nine accelerator programmes and seven regional funds, and closing from 15:00 with one-to-one meetings between startups and funds. Registration is behind a site login; startups book 1:1 slots separately. Why go: the single best room in Rome this year for a founder raising in Italy. Day two puts you in front of the funds directly.

Talent Garden Ostiense, 00154 Roma

with Camilla Crucito (CEO and Co-founder, Flowlee)

An evening at Talent Garden Ostiense on how AI is actually being put to work inside organisations and across sectors, run with the Mindstone community. The format is case studies and live demos from practitioners, startups and companies, followed by a round table with questions from the room and then informal drinks. Camilla Crucito, CEO and co-founder of Flowlee, is among those presenting. People attending in person also get access to the Mindstone platform, where the demos and video highlights are published afterwards. The ticket price was not published by the organiser at listing time. Why go: Mindstone's format is demos over slideware, so you see what people have actually shipped and what broke. One of the few recurring AI practitioner rooms in Rome, and the right one for engineers and product people putting models into production rather than evaluating them.

Gazometro Ostiense, 00154 Roma

The eighth edition of the Italian Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Machines' annual conference, running inside Maker Faire Rome at the Gazometro. This year adds a full peer-reviewed paper track, with selected work published in Springer's Proceedings in Advanced Robotics, alongside the extended abstracts, hands-on demos, exhibition and outreach sessions the conference is known for. Three days on the same site as the Maker Faire exhibition floor. Why go: three days in one place with most of the Italian robotics research community, the spin-outs it produces and the industrial engineers who buy from them. The strongest deep-tech room in Rome this month, and the one to pick if you are hiring robotics researchers, licensing lab work or looking for a technical co-founder.

A one-hour workshop inside Maker Faire Rome, in Aula 22 of the ISA pavilion at the Gazometro, on turning research results into companies through the Technology Transfer Lazio programme. It covers the programme's strategy, the investment and networking opportunities open to research teams and spinouts, and marks the opening of its second call for proposals. Roberta Angelilli, Vice President of Regione Lazio and Assessore for Economic Development, presents. Attendance is free and registered attendees are emailed a free Maker Faire entry ticket. Booking requires a Lazio Innova site login. The area is filmed and photographed. Why go: short, specific and tied to actual money, with the second call opening on the day. Go if you are a researcher or spinout founder in Lazio who wants the terms straight from the people writing the cheques, rather than reading the call documents cold.

Binario F, 00185 Roma

with Giulia Lotti (Experience Strategy and Service Design Manager, SheTech)

A networking evening at Binario F near Termini on technology and digital careers, in a Career Cocktail Canvas edition. Rather than a panel, the session is a structured creative exercise: each person maps their own professional path on a canvas and then compares it with others in the room. Giulia Lotti, who has spent over a decade consulting on digital transformation, leads the activity, and the evening closes with open networking. Run by SheTech. The ticket price was not published by the organiser at listing time. Why go: the canvas format gives the conversations something to be about, which is why this works better than the usual drinks-and-business-cards evening. Best if you are mid-career in tech and weighing a move, or want to compare notes with people a few steps ahead.

with Paolo Benanti (President of the AI Commission for Information, Presidency of the Council of Ministers) · Paolo Zangrillo (Minister for Public Administration, Government of Italy) · Adriano Paroli (Senator and promoter of the event, Senato della Repubblica) + 3 more

A conference in the Sala Caduti di Nassirya at Palazzo Madama, promoted by Senator Adriano Paroli, on how artificial intelligence can reshape public administration and strengthen Italy's institutions and competitiveness. Four thematic talks bring together public officials, AI practitioners and innovators on the technologies and operating models behind modernising the state, with opening remarks by the Minister for Public Administration and closing remarks by Paolo Benanti, who chairs the government's AI commission on information. Organised by iNNOVATECH. The session is also streamed on the Senate's WebTV and YouTube channel. The ticket price was not published at listing time. Why go: Italian public-sector AI procurement is written by the people on this stage, and Benanti closing is the clearest signal of where the policy is heading. Go if you sell into public administration or need to read the regulatory direction early.

The Green Building Council Italia's annual forum at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, on decarbonising the built environment and the technologies that make it measurable. The programme covers building certification and rating, digital twins and energy-performance monitoring, low-impact materials, retrofit of existing stock, and the European rules redrawing the sector. Organised by Green Building Council Italia. Why go: the measurement side of green building is where the software money is, and this is the room where the certification bodies, the designers and the construction firms that have to comply are all present. Worth a day if you sell energy-performance, digital-twin or building-data products in Italy, or need to understand which European rules your customers are about to be held to.

Sala Tirreno - Regione Lazio, 00145 Roma

Lazio Innova and EISMEA, the EU agency that runs the Interregional Innovation Investments instrument, spend a day on how Italian regions and companies actually use it: who has won, how the multi-region consortium model works in practice, and where Italian participation is thin. The agenda runs from institutional greetings at 09:30 through a session on innovation as a strategic driver, presentations of six funded I3 projects, and an afternoon panel on the instrument in post-2027 programming. Speakers include Giuseppe Casella of EISMEA, Tiziana Petucci of Regione Lazio and Nicola De Michelis of DG REGIO. Free, booking required via a site login, and capacity is 30. Why go: I3 co-funds the commercialisation stage, which makes it one of the few EU lines that reaches scale-ups rather than only research consortia. Useful if you are raising non-dilutive money for a cross-border deployment. Thirty seats, so it will close early.

The Hub - Zest, 00185 Roma

A live pitch evening at the Zest hub by Termini: four startups each present on stage for five minutes to a room of investors and founders, then take questions and direct feedback from a named panel. The panel is Paolo Angelucci, CEO of AFP Capital and business angel, Luca Barboni, growth advisor and author, Pablo Docimo, CEO of 20V and early-stage investor, and Gianluca Comandini, entrepreneur and professor. The pitches are filmed and the recordings go to the presenting startups. After the pitches the mics go off and an aperitivo opens informal networking. Run by Silicon Startup, who run the same format in Milan. The evening is in Italian. Why go: a real panel giving real feedback in public, which is rarer in Rome than the number of pitch nights suggests. Go to test a first-round pitch on a live audience, or to see what is actually moving at Rome's early stage without needing an invitation.

A hands-on evening from the Rome AWS user group built as a coding contest rather than a talk: write a Python Navigator class that walks an avatar through a text maze it cannot see, using Kiro to break the problem into phases and set success criteria before any code is written. That is the real subject - specification-driven development with an AI coding agent, practised on a problem small enough to finish in an evening and awkward enough to expose sloppy specs. Prizes at the end, and a room of engineers who do this for a living.

Auditorium del Massimo, 00144 Roma

Italy's main project management gathering, now in its fifteenth edition, with over a thousand attendees at the last one. A full day at the Auditorium del Massimo across conference rooms, workshop rooms and an exhibition area, organised by ISIPM, the Italian Institute of Project Management. The angle is practical and cross-sector: much of the content covers running digital and transformation projects, agile and hybrid delivery models, and where AI tooling now sits in a delivery stack. Useful for anyone leading delivery, product or a PMO in a tech company or a digitising one. The call for speakers closed in September; the programme is published on the event site. Sessions are in Italian.
