Venue disclosed to approved attendees, Barcelona

A 60-person, single-day AI hackathon for people who would rather ship than switch off in late August. Co-hosted by {Tech: Europe} and Cala, the day opens with participant matchmaking so you can find teammates before building starts, runs twelve hours with mentor support, and closes with live demos and an award ceremony at 20:45. Entering the competition is optional — opt in by 19:00. Every technology partner provides free credits, with OpenAI, Pioneer by Fastino Labs, Fal, Entire, Latitude and Aikido confirmed, covering multimodal models, generative media, agent reliability and security tooling. Lunch and dinner are included. Attendance is by approval and the venue is shared once you are accepted.

PIBÄ Barcelona (Sector Arriba), 77

Sysarmy's Barcelona chapter restarts its monthly after-work at PIBÄ following the summer break. #AdminBirras is the informal meeting point for the people who keep infrastructure running: sysadmins, SREs, DevOps and platform engineers, developers, DBAs, InfoSec and networking specialists — and anyone curious about that side of the industry. There is no agenda and no talks, which is the point: it is a low-friction way into a community that has been running these gatherings since 2009 and organises the annual #AdminFest around SysAdmin Day. Conversation is mostly in Spanish. Free, first Thursday of the month, upstairs at PIBÄ.

CocoVail Beer Hall, 284

Barcelona's CNCF community opens its new season with a deliberately unstructured evening at CocoVail Beer Hall. No talks, no slides, no sponsor pitch — just the Kubernetes, containers and platform-engineering crowd catching up before the autumn programme of technical meetups begins. Cloud Native Barcelona is one of the city's longer-running developer communities, with close to 200 reviews behind it, so this is a straightforward way to meet the people who will be speaking at and organising the season's deeper sessions. Free, and worth arriving early — capacity at the venue is limited and roughly a dozen people had already claimed places.

BIT Habitat — Edifici Ca l'Alier, 362

with Chema Alonso (Vice President, Head of International Development, Cloudflare)

Day three of Media Party Barcelona is a one-day build sprint at BIT Habitat, Barcelona's urban innovation centre in Poblenou. Around 100–120 selected developers, data scientists, journalists and designers form multidisciplinary teams and ship open-source prototypes across three tracks: workflow automation and agentic journalism, the post-search publisher economy, and information integrity and verification. Cloudflare is headline sponsor, supplying infrastructure and AI developer tooling plus its own challenge track with prizes tied to its developer ecosystem; small grant prizes are also awarded. Teams pitch and demo before the day closes. Useful for engineers who want a real applied-AI problem for a day, and for anyone working on trust and provenance on the web.

Plain Concepts Barcelona, 240

The Barcelona observability community returns from the summer break, this time hosted in Plain Concepts' offices in L'Esquerra de l'Eixample. Grafana & Friends is the local chapter for engineers working with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo and the wider open-source monitoring stack, backed by Grafana Labs and with 76 reviews behind it. The agenda and speaker line-up are still to be published — the organisers have asked people to save the date first — but the format is consistent: a couple of practitioner talks, then networking over drinks. Free, with 47 places still open at the time of listing. Sessions are typically delivered in Spanish.
