about this room
The Birmingham Power BI meetup's December session, hosted at Robert Walters on the ninth floor of 11 Brindley Place. Doors open at 17:45. At 18:15 Adam Betts talks about getting data ready for Power BI with dbt: the key concepts, how to get up and running, and a short demo of transforming, testing and preparing data.
After the talk there is free pizza and drinks, then the annual Xmas quiz with prizes and a social until 20:00. Robert Walters sponsors the venue and food.
dbt in front of a Power BI crowd is a useful pairing, because the talk is about fixing data upstream instead of inside the report. Best for analysts and BI developers tired of cleaning the same data in every dashboard.
