We Are Human Festival: AI in the Service of People

The first edition of a festival built around human rights in the age of AI, opening its international tour at the Forum des images before São Paulo, New York, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Mumbai, Quito and Geneva. An open international call drew more than 2,100 films from over 140 countries; 20 are screened here, with a Grand Prix, a Screenplay Prize and an Ethics Prize awarded on the night. Between the screenings, four hour-long conversations from 14:15: how image models learn and on whose data, who tells the story when machines enter the writers' room, and what crediting and paying authors looks like next. Speakers are still to be announced. Non-profit organiser, free entry, registration required and places limited. Why go: it treats generative AI as a question about authorship and consent rather than a product demo, and it is the one night this is argued in a cinema. Best for anyone building or using generative tools in media and design.
